Relationships

The strength of relationships rests on trust, loyalty and understanding.

We operate with a business model that revolves around these foundational values, with our suppliers, clients, colleagues and partners alike. We believe long-term success comes from nurturing these relationships through openness and the transparent exchange of information.

At Diamond Trading NV, we provide tailor-made solutions for our clients. We bring value to our relationships, both upstream and downstream.

Our expertise begins with reading the rough: understanding the potential of each stone, and anticipating the polished gem which it can become. That same insight now guides our trade in polished diamonds, from sourcing to the finished stone.

Successful outcomes are realised when the right product is presented to the right customer at the right time. We strive to support the success of our partners.

The 888.88 Infinity

A rough promise

Remember the name

Infinity

It's black, it's bold, it weighs 888.88 carats, and its name is Infinity.

A fancy black natural diamond from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Infinity was shaped from a single rough crystal of 1,138 carats. It was cut with respect for its natural size and shape, minimising the loss of its rough promise.

The journey

Traces of a dramatic ascent, kept intact.

On its volcanic journey from some 150 kilometres beneath the Earth's surface, Infinity developed a patina and an inner landscape that bear the marks of immense pressure and tension.

Rather than polish these away, they were preserved: every vein ripples beneath the facets.

“We did not try to erase the traces of this very dramatic and fast transit from deep in the earth.”Daniel De Belder

From rough to polished

Half a century until its final shape.

Acquired as a rough crystal in 1975, Infinity was recorded by the GIA in 2013 as the largest single-crystal natural diamond it had examined and reported on at the time.

Between 2022 and 2024, it was finally cut and polished, with custom-made tools, for a stone that had long been considered too hard to shape.

Perfection that praises the shadows and sees the light in the dark.
